to US Bureau of the Census, in 1997, 13.3% of the US population,
or 35.6 million people, lived in poverty. Forty percent of persons
living in poverty are children; in fact, the 1997 poverty rate of
19.9% for children is almost twice as high as the poverty rate for
any other age group. Our mission is to provide quality, ongoing, emergency food assistance to the needy in our community. Your donation would contribute urgently needed support. The money will be used to provide two nutritious meals a day to homeless people, one in the morning and one in the evening. For many of them, it will be the only food they have. Please
